Julie, unfortunately, you will find this happens with most maincrop/late potatoes, as they have been out the ground, and knocking about storage units for many months now. I use, when I have to buy at this time of year, the potatoes sold in the supermarkets as 'Rooster Potatoes', but I wouldn't say they are any better or wrose yhan any other varieties. |

never heard of them Gwen, they sound pretty good. Julie they were probably not handled too well once dug up, hence the bruising. |

Like Gwyn i am using Marfona just bought my second sack yesterday, you can only buy them from farm shops, not sure if they are just here in Kent. |

Valinkent, they are grown here in Derbyshire also, and sold by the farm shops/roadside. I think they must be heavy croppers, so worthwhile for the farmer to grow this variety. |

Sainsbury frozen ones in Goose fat does me BUT I do do ACTUAL Roasts at Xmas if we have family and use Reds and do my Delia fan pots that the family always want |
