Good evening everyone.

Today is Thinking Day. It's the day that all girl guides, brownies, rainbows, cubs and scouts celebrate around the world. It was the birthdays of the founders of this great association, Robert and Olive Baden- Powell. I was a guide, young leader and a Brown Owl.

So I'd like to wish everyone connected with this fantastic organisation, a very happy birthday.

and back to you.

In this 100th year It sad that the organisation appears to be ebbing away. Shame because it does move with the times and it well worth girls attending

Happy Thinking Day Helen. A date ingrained into my mind.

I was a guide, Ranger, Young Leader and guider. (and Queen's Guide), and guiding has been strong in my family. I have photo's of my Grandmother as a girl guide.

I went to Westminster Abbey for a Thinking Day service, years ago, where Lady Olave Baden-Powell gave a speech. She was very old then.

Teresa are you still involved? When I married hubby and went to live abroad it was hard to carryon with Guiding, so I gave it up, my eldest is a Tawny Owl at my old pack. My mum was involved for many years as well.

No I'm not involved any more. I moved away from where I had my guide company, and with two small children I didn't pick it up again in the new area.

I'm almost eligible for the Trefoil Guild now LOL

Church yesterday was decorated with loads of very colourful balloons some of which read '100 today'. Yes, it was all to celebrate this special event. The girls and their leaders all took part in the service and the place was crammed full. There was a celebratory lunch open to everyone afterwards.

I was a Brownie and a guide and then a Tawny Owl...then I got married and moved away.

Congratulations to all. Cx.
