Having just watched 'Tower Block of Commons', I've just e-mailed our local MP (for the time being) Mark Oaten to inform him that a % of his local constituency's rent goes to other areas to fund councils/repair houses there, which makes our rent artificially high.
Also e-mailed a Liberal councillor who's going on in the propaganda that fell through my letterbox, about keeping 'character' lighting in a road near mine - where no-one lives.
I've invited him out (in the dark) to view the newly installed light across from me. Oh yes, it's full of character - if you happen to like suffering from sleep deprivation, light pollution , the ability to walk through your house at 2am without having to turn a light on, and are 'into' industrial security lights!!
True the rest of the lights in the street are ugly 'dated' 1960's monstrosities, but they don't blind me when I'm in bed!!!

To be fair, having filed a 'light nuisance' complaint to the council, they've put a small shade on the front, but it's still an industrial security light and the light shining through the cord holes in my blinds is - blinding!! LOL
(doesn't help that my bed faces the window - but it's been in that position for over 15 years and I ain't moving it!!!)
