My daughter is having a scan this week for a suspected ovarian cyst. She has been doubled up for over a week, and she looks about 5months pregnant.
Glad of any advice from anyone who has suffered with this.

Thanks

have had scans for one,
and daughter has, but both turned out to be at a small size,
so not growing fast,

they are painful though,
surely doctor should operate to remove it if your daughter looking pregnant,
it must be awful pain for her,

push doctors to help her, go with her and tell um your not happy , as mum your entitled to ,
tell them she wants quality of life,
that should move um

Hi Vicky, I had a scan that showed an ovarian cyst size of a grapefruit, it was painful. The scan was over soon and didn't hurt or anything. Doctors decided to operate seeing as I had had cancer,(I didn't have it then, but they didn't know at time). I had a full hysterectomy not long after and the cyst was clear, not cancerous. Been a lot better since, no more pain from it but I still look pregnant though but that's because I can't move round much to exercise, lol.

Just pm'd you,

Caz xx

I'm glad your daughter is having a scan soon .My sister some years ago was in terrible pain and it was a blue flashing light job.She had a cyst like a grapefruit and it had ruptured.
I hope she will be sorted and pain free soon.

Thanks girls.
The gp upped her painkillers yesterday, but they're making her sleepy.
No happy medium is there lol

She examined her and said she could feel something on her right ovary, so hoping they can find something and get her in quick.
She needs to be well as she is on her own with two kids.

I'm going with her, so will push to try to get an answer there and then.
She's been having burning pains since last night.

Will keep you posted.

Vicky, if this pain is new or gets worse, ring the doctor or that NHS line, my doctor told me mine could have ruptured at any time and Janes sister is proof.

Caz. I'm fed up trying to tell her to ring them, but she won't, so there's not much I can do.
She's been online reading about it, and seems to think she's gonna be ok.
Thanks though.
I'm just worried that something could go wrong when she's on her own with the kids.

Scan seems to be ok, so she will now be referred to gynae, as gp said it could be endomitriosis (sp)

Still got some pain, but it has subsided a bit.

hi there. when i was in my late 20s, i was getting really bad pains on one side. my doctor said it was nothing. after suffering on and off for 3 years, on a day off from work, one of my large cysts was twisting. whisked off to hospital immediately. the pain was worse than giving birth to my kids.next am i was operated on. they found 12 altogether, the largest the size of a grapefruit. they took half an ovary away, but all the cysts were benign thank goodness.6 months later a check up showed my ovary had grown back and 4 years later when i was married i had my first child without any propblems.

you mustnt be fobbed off with, it wont bother you, or wait and see. mine nearly burst and if it had i would have had blood poisoning and all sorts of complications not worth thinking about.
i hope they sort it quick and all goes well.
take care christina

Hi Christina. My daughter has been suffering for a few months with pain off and on. Gp's just give her painkillers.
Sonographer said all appears to be ok, but she will have to wait for the official report to be send to her doc. He put a note on her file to say if it came back clear, she was to be referred immediately to gynae, but there is at least 2-3months waiting time just to get an appt through.

Thanks Christina, and glad all turned out well for you.

Thanks Christina. She spoke to her gp on Friday, who said the scan showed her ovary was very swollen. She is going to refer her to gynae. NO HURRY THEN!!! Given her past history, she should be given an emergency appt. She said if the pain gets any worse, she will give her stronger painkillers!! Just raging that she will have to wait 2-3 months just for an appt to come through.

Praying that it isn't anything sinister.

Thanks for thinking of her Christina.

Going to go to my daughters surgery in the morning, and see if I can get her seen. If the answer is no then I'm gonna ask for a letter stating she is a patient from one of the gp's, and go private.
That way we will know a lot quicker what is wrong with her.
What with her history and my breast cancer I'm worried sick & so is she.

Positive thoughts please everyone.
