she has had niggles for few weeks now, and managed to put up with it,
but yesterday it would seem things moved a little step further,
and today she has been in some discomfort,

shes 31 weeks pregnant,
i told her phone her midwife,
she recommended she go hospital for check up,
the doctor at the hospital said well it would seem this week baby will arrive, but thats not too bad at 35 weeks he should be fine,
!!!!!!!!!
daughter said yeh however im 31 weeks,
oh well ,um , ok , maybe best give you steroid injection,
the doctor started to back track then, saying , it will be ok, maybe a few more weeks,
great , shes just scared the hell out of daughter, now shes saying , dont worry,

she only suggested the injection after daughter said if he arrives now his lungs will be too small,

she has to have second tomorrow,

so it would appear little fella is gona be like his uncle for scaring us, and threatening to arrive sooner than hes ready

I know what you mean..i was lucky when i had my son The hospital was brilliant

We were away from home when my waters broke on the Saturday evening, the hospital managed to stop them but i went into full blown labour early hours Monday & had him just before 8 in the morning

I have 2 lots of injections on the Sunday in case i went into labour

Tell your daughter that we were discharged from hospital after 5 weeks....then only thing after that was he was a little slower at crawling, walking & talking

Julie -
I had to have several doses of steroids when pregnant with my last 2.
I had gone into labour at 28 weeks with my daughter - They said then that she had a 95% chance of survival, Wanted to give me a c-section. I begged them not to and in the end they delayed labour and she was born at 39 weeks!

With the next baby it all started at 19 weeks- Again I was given steroids and he stayed in untill 36 weeks.

At 31 weeks the baby is very well developed, And providing she is given the steroids to help build up the baby's surfactant in th lungs, I am certain eveything will be fine.

pat

thanks guys i will tell her this tomorrow,
she may listen coming from others,

shes so worried,
she says she hopes he dont take as long as his uncle to arrive when it starts,
i went in hospital on the saturday , and it was 29 hours before he made his grand entrance, arriving on sunday morning at breakfast time.
unlike her who took 4 hours , and has been in hurry ever since lol

Julie - My son wanted to stay in there in the end too!
With my son, I had been havingcontractions since 19 weeks - and out of hospital, Steroids the lot. Eventually when it all started again at 35 weeks, The Dr' said they wouldn't interfere anymore and that he could be born. I went into labour on the Friday, Full labour at first but then it all stopped. I was too far into labour to be allowed home, But they also wouldn't speed it up as I was pre - term. On the following Tuesday, My waters broke, Still no contractions. By the Thursday the Dr's decided that they had to speed things up and after 6 days in labour, My son was finally born!
