Dear All

Hello

On 24 February 1993, Footballer Robert Frederick Chelsea "Bobby" Moore, OBE, born 2 April 1941, passed away aged just 51.

An oustanding player, he captained West Ham United for more than ten years and is immortalised for lifting the World Cup as captain of the England team on 30 July 1966.

Earlier in 1965, he lifted the European Cup Winners Cup after West Ham defeated 1860 Munich 2-0 in the final.

Before retiring from the game, he played for Fulham in the 1975 FA Cup Final.

Later, he worked for the radio station Capital Gold as a commentator, covering the World Cup in 1990.

Pelé called Moore the fairest defender he had ever played against.

Bobby's widow Stephanie has campaigned for greater awareness and improved treatments for bowel cancer.

Bobby Moore was a truly gifted foootballer and was the embodiment of everything good about the game.

Looking at the tributes paid to him, he was also a very decent human being.

Take care all
Best wishes
xx
