Julia,I am a chucker and dolloper if I don't have a recipe to follow.OH is a
chef, not very imaginative but knows how to do it properly.

I would say the only thing to do is give it a try, that is how I go on. If it turns out rubbish the way you try then call it something else.

I tried vegetable crumble for the first time tonight. Not that good but I will learn from it.

Sharron, this is for you especially. I fancy making a Pineapple Upside Down Cake, which I have not done for years. I recently bought a smaller sized loosed bottomed cake tin, as there is only two of us now. It is only 6", 15cm size. I have printed off a recipe, but note that the tin size is 23cm. Do you have any suggestions, other than halving the ingredients.
I am asking yourself, because you seem to make anything and everything
Many Thanks.

If you google Green label Mango chutney, there is lots of info, one site has a recipe too.

Reviews on the squeezy bottles are available also.

Is this the tallish jar that has a green label on. I am sure I have seen it recently. Will have a look in M******sons on Friday, as you have got me curious now.

I have a jar of Sharwoods.I think it came from a supermarket.

The stuff I am making is Delias. She recommends leaving it two months but six is better so will be buying some in the meantime.

Yes we loved the chunky one too. We eat it all year round with ham and other cold meats. I like it with sausages too.

Ann
I'll try the supermarket one ..Thank you.
I too could find the squeezy one, but hoped to find the same brand with chunky pieces, ...definitely couldn't sqeeze them.
If you couldn't find it in your area either, perhaps they stopped making it.
I didn't buy it very much, but it was part of Christmas for us.

I am sure it will be worth it Sharron. Gwynne, I don't think they do the tall jars any more all I seem able to get are squeezy jars. I did have an ordinary jar from S*********s but it wasn't the same as the other used to be, the flavour is not the same.

Easier said than done, ....buying the chutney, I mean.

At Christmas I searched all over the place for those tall jars of mango chutney, but couldn't find them.

I'm sure your chutney will taste great and well worth the effort.

Mangoes were on offer in Lidl so I have spent the day slicing and grating and grinding.I can't help thinking that anybody with even a little more sense than they were born with would just buy a jar of mango chutney.
