I noticed in the 1881 census a boy called Brighton Gay!

.....nice at the time - totally different now!

I know I knew the reason but why but what is wrong with John Thomas. Is it slang for a toilet? I have one - perhaps I don't want to know lol.

Not really Elizabeth, but just looking on Ancestry for someone and came across a Mr Butter living with the Bacons and a Spong, wonder if it was pronounced Sponge? lol , tasty.

I only share my name with one other person , different middle names and 30 years apart, so it's always all my fault !

You have just the right name when it comes to finding ancesters. Looking for names like James, John and Charles can get boring
