I have a tower pressure cooker that was given to me many years ago, which I use to do my stews in, but the last couple of times the pressure hasn't built up and there is no resistance if I go to remove the lid. What could be the reason for this? Could I need a new weight or do I need to replace the rubber seal in the lid or the little rubber and metal bung on the lid. |

It will most probably be the rubber seal. Not too sure where you will get new seals though. It has been a while since I had to replace mine as I dont use it much now, as a pressure cooker. I use the pan constantly for large Chilli con Carnes. |

I agree. Pretty sure it needs a new rubber seal. If you google, you can find suppliers. |

Probably is the lid seal but I have also been caught out by the 'little rubber and metal bung' - its a safety valve. If it goes to the 'release' position the T bar on the metal bung keeps it in the hole in the little rubber but it nolonger seals. Push the metal down so that it is almost flush on the outside of the lid. It will pop into place. Mine got displaced by kids playing with it, not because it blew for safety reasons!! |

Helen I have a Tower one, have you checked the Pressure release Valve? There should be a small disc inside it.... |
