The refusal of Bridges to shake hands with Terry at yesterday's football match just about sums up today's footballers - they're definitely not sportsmen, they're ridiculously overpaid childish attention seeking morons!

FFS - Terry slept with Bridges EX GIRLFRIEND - not his wife, daughter or mother!!
Has the girl no right to sleep with whoever she likes - surely she's as much a 'free agent' as Terry & Bridges!

I think it's more to do with the fact that she is the mother of his child

To start withTerry is married with childern let alone Terry and Bridge were best of friends !!

She may be the mother of Bridges child - but if they're no longer together, surely that doesn't mean she should be celibate.

If they were best of friends - at least she was being careful and not sleeping with a total stranger!

Julie, I know what you're saying and she could have had more sense but having a kid with someone doesn't make you their possesion in any way.

True, wasn't the best move to make - and may have been a deliberate slap in Bridges face. However, they are highly paid 'sportsmen'.
They did manage to get through the match, but they should have the ability and maturity to shake hands - purely in a sportsmanlike manner - as is the 'tradition' of a football match.
They are, after all watched by many children and should give a positive example of how to behave.

I'm quite sure is wife is on the warpath and I quite sure is wife is happy that Terry paid for Bridges ex-wife to have an abortion , you talk about Bridges being childish well Terry is old enough to about birth control but stupid enough not to use it !!

Edit- it should read Bridges now ex-girlfriend they were together at the time of the affair.

Bridges has every right to kick Terry and his Ex-Girlfriend into touch. But he would be very silly to jepoardize his football career over this. So play for England and show the world just how good you are !!

No it doesn't David i agree, & if JT had gone with any other woman then Bridges wouldn't have thought anything of it...I just think there's certain things you don't do & that's one of them

I don't see why children or any of us should know about what goes on off the pitch - what they do in their private life is their own business but how they behave as sportsmen is a public thing.

I don't think I'd be very impressed if one of my best mates slept with my husband within days/weeks of our split. In fact I reckon I'd cut her dead....which is what Bridges is doing. Can't say as I blame him tbh x

I don't blame him and I'd do the same. Why are sportsmen supported if they have the morals of an alley cat ( especially if they are good at it and win for the fans!) ...but not if they have decent feelings and don't wish to shake the hand of someone they despise?

I don't really give two hoots, and haven't been following the 'ins and outs' of the story, but if Bridges does not want to shake someone's hand, that is entirely his prerogative.

As far as im concerned JT is a total SCUMBAG, not just what he did to Wayne Bridge.

If the leeches of the Media had,nt jumped on the story and it was just an ordinary person,not a footballer,there would,nt have been all the brooha about it.( They seen to delight in breaking up peoples marriages just for a story and not consider the Innocent parties concerned) how ever it seems that JT.had it away with her in the house bought by Bridge while their child was there.also I believe he is or was paying her 10 grand a month upkeep.As Bridge reportedly said, you would have thought they would have gone elseware .**M**.

I noticed the newspapers and media didn't make as much fuss when Thierry Henry, the french footballer, handled the football during one of the World Cup qualifying matches.

As a result, Ireland did not go through to the World Cup.

This was appalling conduct and set a poor standard for the game.
And yet, this wasn't mentioned much at all.
