My friend is trying to establish a link with her Sprinburn, Glasgow "Weir's" and actress Molly Weir (b Mary Weir, Springburn Glasgow 1910-d 2004), Molly had a famous brother Tom Weir b1916. their father died in WW1 but what were her parents names--can't find them at all and can't find her birth on Scotland's People either--very frustrated!!!

I remember reading her autobiography once.Can't say I remember her mother's name but it would be in the book if the library could obtain it for you.

Using the search terms: Weir Mary, Glasgow, 1910 - 1910 there are 8 matches. Sorry but I haven't got any credits on there to view the matches, have you looked at any of those?

My stepmother was the spitting image of Molly Weir, and she was a Scot!

If it´s any help, somewhere I have copies of her autobiography, but I can only find the first part at the moment. She had another brother Willie and mentions a baby sister who died. Her mother´s name was Jeanie.

Thanks all---I've ordered the book from Amazon, I'll see if my friend wants me to buy credits--i did have a few but there was no image for Tom and £10 to order--there must be a connection somewhere as her Weirs are from the same little bit of glasgow--will let you know how I go on
