Hi all.

A cousin found me on here and has only just started. I don't want to open my GR tree so I have been scrawling out the bones to scan and send him.

This has exposed a gap and I have just been on ancestry looking for the marriage. I am sure you used to be able to specify Thomas White with spouse Martha but I can't do it.

I am looking for Thomas White b 1808, 04 or 06 (from census) in Mid or West Rasen, Lincs. Martha was born 1818, 14 or 16 in Potter Anworth Lincs or Waddington. First child b 1849.

Can someone please explain how I can track down the marriage, or better yet, find it for me? I know I should be able to do this myself; maybe I need lunch first!

Thanks for looking x

Ah thanks, I have just been looking and I didn't have the 51. Looks like thats right, 1861 is Middle Rasen with Sabina aged 12. Just scoffing while I read.
Sorry about the eldest child thing, my notes only have Sabina, Martha & Abraham (my bloke).

Nothing for Thomas White marriages 1833-43 in Caistor. Potter Anworth turns out to be Potterhanworth, genuki says SW subdistrict of Lincoln but that isn't helping!

Got an 1838 East Retford but when I click to see who else is on the page he's on his own! Had that with another rellie today but Ephraim Portas is a tad easier than Thomas White to track down.

I guess this is why I haven't done much with my dad's side. :-)

Now also looked at Sleaford and Caistor (close to Martha's birthplace) with no joy.

Gotta go out for a bit now but will be back when I can; thanks GB & anyone else who may help while I am gorn. x
