A young girl resembling Madeleine McCann captured on CCTV film in a New Zealand shop is not the missing girl, police has said.

Who knows? I live in a nice happy little world where hope springs eternal and I'm staying there:)

Uggers, we all hope she will be found safe, same as I hope my friend's son Jerome will be. Sadly I don't believe that will be the case.

Jerome's disappearance got a lot of very local publicity but very little throughout the UK I believe every missing child should get the same exposure and police funds allocated to finding them.

I often think of her when my daughter is doing something daft...

I'd love her to be found safe and sound too...I really would...but I don't think it's going to happen xx

As for little Ben, I've always believed he was "snatched" for adoption purposes....and that he is still alive....

You know the Portugese files on this case are available in English online .....with a little bit of googling about they're there for all to see... if anyone is interested in having a look..some of the things contained in them haven't ever made the UK news.xx

I suppose for the parents while there is no news there is always hope. And they didn't think that young girl in the US (can't remember her name, sorry) was alive either.
Among the photos witheld by the Poruguese police was one from New Zealand, reprinted in the paper it is a very good likeness. It does make you wonder.

i think the police thought she was dead all along
so never bothered to investigate thoroughly

they would of seen it as a waste of money

A number of my friends and I were part of an internet discussion board where some members were very serious in their research in this case. A few even flew to the complex and took their own photographs and took measurements between various sites of interest.

I acknowledge there were some nutters on that site (and we all knew who they were) but some really very thorough research was done, discussed, accepted or rejected.

Sadly it got out of hand and was shut down for fear of certain persons' legal representatives filing for libel.

Twas a very interesting site though!

Seriously we are none of us are allowed to repeat FACTS in this case, they are not appreciated by some members.

Sad as we used to have some really good debates on this subject even though they did get rather heated at times.
