I've got a slightly different version of this age-old Cree prophecy,it's essentially the same though-

Only when the last tree has been cut down,
Only when the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you find money cannot be eaten.

EDIT- The large mining companies,in their never-ending pursuit of the almighty dollar,would do well to remember this....

When all the trees have been cut down,
when all the animals have been hunted,
when all the waters are polluted,
when all the air is unsafe to breathe,
only then will you discover you cannot eat money.
