Did anyone watch these programmes on bbc 2, they were repeats but I don't remember seeing them advertised before.
First one was earlier this week - The Cost of Free and the other one last evening was Homo Interneticus

Fascinating interesting facts about using the internet and how it is changing lives and the way we think and interact, as well as how it is affecting small children and young people.
Seems we are separating into foxes and hedgehogs, quite appropriate considering recent visitiors to my garden lol

There is apparently an online quiz/questionnaire that they would like people to fill in, I am going to have a look at it later.

go to bbc/co.uk/virtualrevolution and find your way to the quiz

Really worth watching the programmes if you get the chance.

Deanna, they were repeats altho I didn't remember seeing them advertised before, but I hope they will put them on again, as fascinating stuff and quite thought provoking re parents letting young children have access to so much technology.
Apparently it can harm the way children make friends, and act socially. In real life things get broken, damaged and worse, in cyber world it's all virtual reality and death, damage etc can be reversed, the emotional reaction isn't felt in the same way so not teaching compassion. Might be why my thread of the other week about compassion was relevant!
