Hello Joyce, I am so glad you have got all the photos back. I have thousands in boxes and am busy scanning them onto my computer. I do have an external hard drive and I also have a CD/DVD burner so I can put them on those too, just for safety. I would hate to lose them all if I had a fire.

O.h. puts my photos on memory sticks for me every so often and other stuff too - he is good at backing things up, I just forget!

After my problem with emails the other day, when I couldn't open any, and then it was ok, o.h. has lost all his emails even some he hadn't read! Some turned up in the 'old' box I think. Don't think he has had time to fiddle about and see if he can retrieve them, most odd tho.

Lost all my photos og my g,children and g,grandchildren all my friends photos and stuff from family history,i wish my friends son would have said i had to back everything up before i change to windows 7 now lost everything ,not happy at all about this will have to see if hubby has them on his pc as hes got vista

now i cant find them but although they were some photos they were,nt the ones i wanted,will have to fiddle around agai as i forgot were i went

have got one but hubby took it as i did,nt use it all that much but will ask him to put my photos on it for me

I think that they will all have been lost if you didn't back them up but I could be wrong.

Christine the chap who gave me the disc thought i knew how to back my files up ,but i did,nt and now cant find the photos

I know nothing about Windows 7, but the photos on XP are in the “My Documents” file.
If you can find and open My Documents via whatever start menu 7 has you may find the My Pictures folder is still in there.
I do hope you find them,

Did you back everything up before you upgraded to Windows 7?

Picasa only finds the photos which are on your hard drive.

I backed all mine up onto memory stick before upgrading and transfered them back into my pictures folder when the installation of Windows 7 was complete.
