I have just last week been helping a friend find her Roman Catholic baptism certificate. We got in touch with the nearest R.C. church to where she was born and they had the baptism record there. When they sent us a copy it also had recorded on it the date and church of her confirmation and also the date and church of her marriage (she already knew these). |

Are the names of Godparents recorded anywhere and if church of baptism/christening is not known is there anyway of locating it. ie my late husband was confirmed into the Roman Catholic faith but I do not know where or when but probably about 1947 and I know one of his godmothers' was a Miss Bagley. I know when and where I was christened but not who my godparents were. I remember I had to give the names of the godparents to the vicar when my children were christened so I would think they had to be recorded somewhere. |
