Goodnight Stephen and good luck for tomorrow :))

I can only echo what Sue has just said.

You put me to shame, Stephen

I'm not bad with words, but far too short on actions

Hi Stephen

Good on you. This country need a lot more people like you.

Evening all

clearing things up from my end -

Janey and I don't agree very often, but I do respect her right to her opinion, as I'm sure she respects mine. On this particular occasion, we happened to agree. As people do, from time to time.

And, for the record, I didn't report her post. Nor have I ever reported any post.

Getting back to the subject on which I originally posted - I for one seriously object to people whose wages I pay denigrating other people. And this business with the black monkey isn't just wrong - it's inhumane.

Stephen a 'nudge' or 'n' is used to get an interesting or relevant or useful thread back on to page 1 if it has slipped off :) you often see it on 'search' threads...or just threads which someone feels might be interesting to those who come on later in the day .

Stephne

Julia did NOT make any posting

"n" on a posting just means that someone wants to move the thread to the top of the listing, but has nothing actually to say.

I think you have a lot to learn about GR! lol!!

I agree ........................

there was nothing in that first posting of yours on this thread that could in any way be construed as offensive, against T&Cs, abusive, or whatever reason might have been given to GR as a reason for its removal.

Hmm. Stephen had a thread deleted last night. The one in which he named another GR member, full real name in capital letters, and accused her of tree banditry. I recommended that he delete the name as an invasion of privacy and violation of site rules. Two people that I know of (me being one) reported the thread for that reason when there was no reply after an hour or so.

JaneyCanuck Report 11 Mar 2010 17:23

Okay, anybody here got any theories?

My first post in this thread has been deleted -- NOT by me.

My post was in reply to the OP, expanding on what she had said and offering some supplementary info about the case in question.

Her post is about racism in the UK Border Agency office.

My post was also about racism in Canada's immigration services.

My post was not about anyone at the GenesReunited website or anything that had ever happened at this website.

In reply to my post, the thread originator said:

You and I have had our moments, Janey -
But I agree with you on this one "Racist, right-wing and *stupid*. They so often go together."

to which I replied:

Suzian: But I agree with you on this one "Racist, right-wing and *stupid*. They so often go together."
Not a bad starting point. ;)

There wasn't even any DISAGREEMENT expressed by anyone in this thread, let alone any personal attacks or other rule violations.

This is so obviously a case of THE POST HAS MY NAME ON IT AND THEREFORE MUST BE REPORTED.

Very obviously, suzian did not report my post. I can't imagine that anyone who had posted here up to 5 a.m. reported my post.

Who is going to stand up on their hind legs and tell me they reported my post, and why?

Stephen, if you have not got anything relevant to say I suggest you go elsewhere.

JaneyCanuck Report 11 Mar 2010 17:11

Stephen, what drives people to make such total jackasses of themselves in public?

I've never understood it ........

Sylvia: It has happened. There's a Fed Ct case underway.

Apparently this is not the first time that Mr Kenney has voiced his opinions about cases and it seems that his previous efforts had an effect -- he announced that Roma from the Czech Republic weren't real refugees, and sure enough, the stats for the next year showed the claim acceptance rate had plummetted. Reasonable apprehension of bias, Madam Justice.

(Nope, no m'lord / m'lady here no more! "Justice Smith" or "Madam Justice", when speaking to 'em in the courtroom.)

SylviaInCanada Report 11 Mar 2010 05:00

Oh

he most probably was right on the facts

but the moron should have known NOT to comment on the case, or else ................ a good immigration lawyer will jump on that and say "M'lud, a clear case of prejudging ..................."

Sylvia - even a racist (and homophobic and misogynist, in his case) right-wing moron is right once a decade. ;)

All the refugee claimants were spectators; no athletes.

Japan? Gimme break.

Unless I'm missing something ...

[edit - he's likely right on the facts; he's still absolutely wrong to have commented on a case that has not been heard or decided]

Janey

had you heard this one?

7 people have claimed asylum since the Olympics ended.

One is Japanese

Jason Kenny, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism of Canada, stated publicly earlier this past week that a Japanese person could not lawfully claim asylum because Japan was a democratic country and there was no persecution of any sort.

of course, he is from Alberta :))
