My Norton is due to expire tomorrow, and I would like to get rid of it and install something different as Norton has given me a few probs.
Can anyone please advise on the safest and best way to do this. Do I get rid of Norton first and then download another programme - am I then at risk during the time I have no protection in place. Or do I download first?

Last year I just resubscribed to Norton because I didn't know what to do, and I don't really want to end up doing the same tomorrow.
Thank you for any help you are able to offer

try going for AVG free.........
it will likely suggest getting rid of norton as two AV's dont like working together.....

Dowload the new one before you uninstall Norton.

You may also need to download the Norton Removal toool as sometimes all the files aren't fully removed after uninstalling from The add/remove programmes.

When I have been installing a new anti-virus I have disconnected from the internet until the new one has installed.
