Cant use the back button to get back to the last page on boards. Have to keep going to either General Topics or Chat and going through them all until I get to where I was. Anyone else with this problem?

Its possible that some crud has got under the back button Jean. A quick hoover around it should remove it.

If the problem is with the key itself. An alternative way to back page, is to press Crtl & the left arrow. This will be slower than using the back button as it'll refresh the previous page (the back button uses your cache memory).

EDIT. Just realised, as Dizzi said.
The other way to back page is to right click on the screen & from the list (usually at the top of it) click on Back.

What I do for long threads is.........open the first page, which puts the thread number in the top browserbar, now look at the number of pages in the thread.

now genes starts thread pages off from 0(zero)
to get to the last page of say 87 pages, highlite the genes address in the browser bar and at the end where the thread number is, add
&px=86

so for instance a thread address might look like..........

http://www.genesreunited.co.za/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1201576&px=86

saves skipping through "More Pages" and so on

that thread is now upto 90 pages...so the number would be &px=89

Another alternative Bob. If there is a long thread, esp one that may go whoosh.

Open the thread & go straight to the last page. Then click on the back arrow page by page, all the way back to the 1st page (without reading of course). Then using the back button you can then read forward from the 1st page.
As your reading from your cache memory. You can read all of the pages at your leisure, without fear of it disappearing.

Thanks, you have helped. Now have more than one way to get there!
