Looking at a recent article in the national papers today a man lured his unsuspecting victim by posing as someone else on facebook.

John Venables is also charged with possessing indecent images of children.

How can we make the internet a safer place for children?

Facebook are being placed under pressure to put in place a proper reporting system...which a lot of other sites do have, but so far they seem to be refusing.

But they will have to in the end....and that should help a lot.

not possible to make it 100% safe, we can only do the best we can, its like saying lets make the roads safe so no more children get run over, just lets keep improving all we can.

Running Bear

good analogy there, if you dont want to get run over, dont play in the road......keep children OFF Facebook!!

True the internet IS a dodgy place to be,
especially how you cant be sure of the ages of the person you are grooming, I mean that hot date you are after COULD be an 11 yearold!!!.........or 73!!

Good exampleRunning Bear - I never really thought of it like that. I just wish the internet providers would put a 'report' toggle on their tool bars before they are forced to.
