	It was supposed to represent the end of sin in the land originally god's friday

	Monty - this is one of my favourite sites for this sort of information - http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/easter/goodfriday.htm Why is it called Good Friday? The name may be derived from 'God's Friday' in the same way that good-bye is derived from 'God be with ye'. It is 'good' because the barrier of sin was broken.

	It's called Good Friday because of the goodness that came out of the tragedy of the Crucifixion, and that nothing, not even death—can overwhelm God’s love. So no, nothing to do with Crackerjack, but you're certainly giving your age away there!! Good old Eammon Andrews and his cabbages! Cx.

	Because here in Eire it is the only day in the year that there are no Pubs open, but they are trying to change that now. Hope that they dont though.
