Me too Robert, but getting abit past the travelling now. Having said that, my old Dad, the reason we went there in the first place, sent me a postcard from there about 4 yrs ago. He had gone to say his farewells to the few old friends still left. He will be 88 this year, lives about a mile from me, and never said he was going. The old sea dog

Found this,doesnt let you see the slice though. It's longer and narrower than the usuall bread.Crust at each end one straight and lighter the othe end is arched(for a better word) and dark.....mmmmm

If you live near a Julian Greves, they stock a lot of old-fashioned sweets and I am sure I have seen cinder toffee there.

As we can't be away overnight now my OH and I take little excursions to different places where we like to buy some sort of local food if we can.Last Wednesday we went to Essex to buy some jam.Yes we are on the south coast!
We are toying with the idea of Staffordshire oatcakes.
Any other ideas?

We did indeed.Black cherry,some Assam tea,scrummy tomato chutney and ketchup to see how it compared to mine.
