I don't go by looks, it's the acting ability that attracts me.

Most of the actors I prefer no one else has ever heard of.

Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind gets my vote

"There's one thing I do know... and that is that I love you, Scarlett.

In spite of you and me and the whole world going to pieces around us, I love you.

Because we're alike. Bad lots, both of us. Selfish and shrewd.

But able to look things in the eyes as we call them by their right names."

Excuse me while I melt .......

Mel Gibson in Braveheart, made me turn a funny colour, go all jelly-like and I would not have kicked him out of bed if came knocking on my door.

Edited. I mean the way he was in Braveheart. Longhaired and rugged Lol.

Not to mention Aragorn son of Arathorn ........

Aragorn: You said you'd bind yourself to me, forsaking the immortal life of your people.

Arwen: And to that I hold. I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone. I choose a mortal life.

Aragorn: You cannot give me this.

Arwen: It is mine to give to whom I will. Like my heart.

For myself, I favour Sam :) because of a quality which maybe is rarer than 'mithril' lol ...steadfastness?

"Sam: I know. It's all wrong. By rights we shouldn't even be here. But we are. It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.
Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?
Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for. "

One of the few, I agree

But......... D'Arcy's " Neither of us perform to strangers! and

Heathcliffe "If he loved you with all the power of his soul for a whole lifetime, he couldn't love you as much as I do in a single day. "
