It might be worth trying the police as if the case was never solved, there may still be some information on the original case archived away within the police force somewhere, you are probably better to ring them rather than email. |

If the disappearance was after 1900 there won't be anything online and without an idea of date I'm sure any Archives wouldn't look through the newspapers for you. Perhaps your best bet would be to look at the online indexes to marriages and deaths and see if you can find her, although if she had a common name that would be very difficult! |

Thank you Shirley, but as I already said, I do know the names of the brothers and sisters, my main question was re. finding any newspaper articles on the sister that went missing. |

Depending on when they were born ,after 1911 then the mums maiden name is listed in the GRO ref, so if you search on both surnames then all the siblings should show |

If you know your Mum's dad's name and date of birth you can check the birth index and find the births of his brother's and sisters. You would then have a name to go on. |
