just found baptism cert 1890 and a copy 1923 showing different fathers how would this be poss

Are you sure they are both for the same person? You know how families like to re-cycle names, or the 2nd son is always named after the grandfather sort of thing?

Are any of the details the same? If the 1923 copy was transcibed at that time, I'm wondering if who ever did it, copied the wrong record from the PR book.

sorry det thought i had put this on wrong site i have also posted on tips we have been looking for yrs for his b,cert someone was trying in the 50s then a copy from 1920s sufaced so we went the archived and looked up the church and date and found fathers name different so when the copy was made in the 20s the fathers name had changed
