Jan your going to have to keep us informed on their progress, what they look like and what they get up to.
What are you going to be doing with them are you going to keep them or have them adopted, if I lived close to you I'd love to have one, at the moment I have a german shepherd, Lillie who's not at all well and we are expecting the worst so your little kitty is a real boost to the way I'm feeling......magic

Just popped in (Hello everyone) to say our stray cat, Cleo, had 4 healthy kittens 15 years ago last month. All but one are still alive.

No, we didn't keep them all - we kept 2 but sadly, one of them got hit by a car and died aged 7 months. The other two kitties went to the neighbours so we see them often.

You are in for a lot of fun and laughter. I love kittens!

Aw, bless them all........ and mum too.... you'll need to go back to bed for a couple of hours yourself!!

I soooooo love kittens.... and the beauty of kittens is they never quite grow up..... they always have those spurts of silliness and mad behaviour.

Mine make me smile at least once each, every day... and Pol and Jethro are a couple of clowns, so they manage to hit the giggle buttons even when they are being naughty.

You have your work cut out for you over the next couple of weeks, Jan, lol!

Love

Sushi - what a great name to give a kitten; even though we found out that cats shouldn't eat too much fish! When our old boy was recovering from a mouth infection we fed him on fish, fish and more fish. He started to lose weight rapidly and his fur was falling out!

He's on a mainly meat diet now (the fussy thing won't eat cat food) and he's put on weight and his fur is growing back.

Mummy Cat will take care of her babies on her own for about 3 weeks, then she'll need a bit of help with kitten-sitting!

Congratualtions Jan!!
Where did she decide t have them in the end - I know from experience that nomatter how many 'nests' you make, the cat will decide!
The last lot of kittens we had - via a rescue cat we were assured had been spayed - arrived on the sofa! This was quite amazing, as we'd only had Tilly for a few months, and she'd been virtually feral before then.

I made up nests behind chairs, the sofa and in cupboards, but when the time came, she wanted them on me!!
Managed to cover the sofa in old towels and newspaper - and convince her THAT was the best place to be, before she had them, but I wasn't allowed to move away, or she tried to follow me - nomatter what state of giving birth she was in!
Had to get my daughter to take my place when I needed the loo.

We intended keeping the kittens and Tilly, but sadly Tilly made it obvious she wanted to be the only cat. We had a choice, send Tilly - a lovely (now spayed)tabby - back to be rehomed, or 3 kittens (2 black and 1 black & white), one of which was slightly deformed (bent tail, unretractable claws and small head - but very loving, if you can survive the claws!!) and possibly hard to rehome.
We /I kept the kittens (now 3 years old) - Tilly was rehomed immediately.

Thanks all :)
She had them in the middle of the living room floor....thankfully we have laminate floors so quite easy to clean up.
She did give us a bit of a fright though. She decided to hide the kittens under the sofa....she managed to hide 4 and then the plumber turned up and frightened her, so she hid with the 4 and abandoned the 5th for 3/4 of an hour.
In the end we had to get the dog crate out of the car (McGhee won't be allowed to go out for weeks) and put her and the kittens in it, put in in a quite corner and covered it with a blanket....she's perfectly happy...eating like a horse and purring contentedly. The way she's acting you'd think she was the only cat who had ever been clever enough to produce kittens :)
All the kittens are tabby's with white markings around the face....one looks like he's wearing spectacles...so funny

Tabby cats are my favourite of all the cats we have had, and we have always had cats, for 54 yrs, and as a child.

Dear Kitty, so pleased your confinement has gone well and you have 5 healthy babies although personally I would have gone with my lovely owners offer of a nest somewhere quieter and more comfortable than a laminate floor.
That poor plumber you must have given him quite a fright(you have to forgive humans they are bumbling at the most inopportune times).

Lillie the german shepherd.

High five for Kitty

Lovely just adore Cats, did you know on the Friends Reunited site, which is free and you can see on above - Get in touch Friends Reunited.
They have different Groups,. one of them is a Cat Lovers Group, and you get lots of tips, and advice from different people on this. Plus funny things their cats have done. Also of course sad times when their pets no longer with us, and we give support to one another.
Worth a try.
