Old colliers

My grandfather, some of his brothers and their father where colliers, does anyone know if there are registers or lists of colliers kept and if so where would they be, would it be individual mines I would need to contact all assuming they are still in exsistance.

Have you tried ......

In my opinion it is a great resource; you can search names of miners including those injured or killed, some of the listings, such as my Grandfather, have details including compensation and memorial pages

Also you can look up info on specific pits, some have photographs etc.
