Sorry if I've come across rude but when I'm looking in "Trying to Find" I tend to look for surnames in the thread subject and if it doesn't give a name I tend to pass them over and I then wonder if I'm missing something if I don't see a name.
Once again I'm sorry if I come across as rude, or is it just me that looks for names in the thread subject.

If you look at them through the Surname Summary then only the Surnames that will come up will be the same as what you have in YOUR tree

Yes your right but sometimes I am looking for a vague reference that a rel may have mentioned, sorry to be picky lol

The other side of the coin is they may not know the maiden names of people. I have loads of Mary unknown or wife/mother's!

Pauline I like the surname in the thread heading and then in the body of the thread. So I am doubly finicky.

I often find I glance at the heading and don't relate back to that when I am reading the question.

Have made an idiot of myself asking for the family name when it was in the thread heading. Well more of an idiot than usual!!!

I took a long time learning how to use the Surname Summary, forgot to turn it off once and kept wondering where all the info had gone. I did say idiot!!
