say a prayer for our dear Uncle Norman, he is 83 and today had to have most of his leg amputated because of an infection, he's so stoic and brave

Bless him, sending lots of positive thougths for Uncle Norman, I hope he will be ok. Older people are often very brave and stoical I suppose because of going through the war.
Keep us posted on his progress, please.

You have reminded me that a family friend wrote me in her C. card that she had to have her foot amputated, I meant to ring her and forgot, caught up with another ex neighbour earlier to ask about her husband as she wrote in the card that he had had leukaemia - luckily he is already in remission thanks to a trial of a new drug that he took part in, he still has to have injections every six weeks and has been left with dvt so my friend has to inject him daily.

CC thinking of Uncle Norman (that was my Dad's name you don't hear it much these days) and hoping he has the resilience to cope with this traumatic happening in his life.
