A hug and a cuddle are so lovely .I am a hugger ,but didn't get that from my parents. It must just be in me.Everyone is different, but some are just not able to show that emotion.
I remember when my Dad was dying in hospital ,my Mum couldn't even touch him but she said to me and my sister to give dad a kiss.I felt really sad for her that she was unable to put her arm around him as I know she wanted to.My sister actually lay on the bed beside him which freaked Mum out lol.We are all different and show are love in all sorts of ways.

Puss, I've got tears in my eyes reading your post, I'm sorry to hear that your family are not the cuddly type. Both mine and hubby's families always greet each other with cuddles, and I still cuddle and hug the girls when they sit next to me on the sofa. There is one special cuddle that I do miss though and that is my Mum's cuddle, when I was little I used to cuddle upto her on the sofa and she used to play with my hair. Even after I got married and had the girls, when we came home on leave or she came and stopped with us, I would still cuddle up next to her when i was tired and she would play with my hair. It's been almost 9 years since we lost her and she "tweedled" with my hair.
I hope now that the ice has been broken in your family and that cuddles become a regular thing for all of the family. XXXXXX

what a lovely memory for you Puss, a shame it has come so late but had it always been there you wouldn't have been able to hold it as a memory now.

Make sure you get in more hugs now

for the first time yesterday, some off you know that me and specky ave been supporting them with step dads cancer, they have also hugged each other something that has never been done, mum always said we wernt a huggy kissy family, i know there is nothing wrong with that but im the opposite i will hug and kiss people i like, so it was a lovely feeling to have had that hug yesterday i will never forget it, and im glad they are openly hugging each other, its sad in a way that the threat off death can change people, ive tried over the years when she has been upset but she felt like stone.
