Been out with Jude today to Chepstow garden centre. Had a lovely day, didnt stop talking all day. Met her sister who was very sociable. Probably spent too long on my feet too. Bought some tubs for the oleanders and some primroses for the front border. Yes, I know oleander sap is poisonous! Nice to do a girls day out.

Jean, I bought a couple of Oleanders last year, and have them in large tubs. I'm hoping the frost hasn't taken them.
The reason I bought them was because, an ancestor,George Arnull, who'se father, Frank Charles Arnull bred and trained race horses for the Kaiser, went on to be successful in this field also. H bred/trained 9 German Derby Day Winners, and his prize horse ' Oleander ' just got pipped at the post in the Pre d'lac De Triumphe (sp) race in France. I bought them as a memory of this family. Julia, I have bought a job lot of five different colours, and I am hoping to have a few years out of them before they have to go to a larger garden. sonds an interesting famliy. My family are very, very distantly related to the Ballard family who bred Michaelmas daisies, and i always have some in my garden.
