We seem to have a rather larger than normal swarm of children around. The Spanish Sprogs are normal at weekends at this time of year but we have a load of Brit 'brats' mid week**. Not a school of them but individuals with parents/grannies.
I thought schools these days frowned on children being taken away in term time?

Not having children etc I lose track of school holidays!

**no offence meant it's what they are called**

I think a lot of people takes kids away in term time cos of the price difference,

Some LEA's allow it if they normally have good attendance record at school xx

I realise that Alko but I thought they only had a set amount of time out these days. Just seems strange in some way.

Can't keep up with the school holidays now that they are all different. Some areas are on different systems and have more terms so the holidays are more spread out.

mine dont stop unitl 26mar until 14 apr, but we are up in scotland. the holidays vary a bit even between large towns up here. my childrens school really dont like you taking them out of school unless for something urgent, like hosp appnt. even dental appmnts are encouraged to be made after school if poss. their attendance rate has to be over 95% or they investigate the time out.
