whenever we have any coffee evenings or fundraisers, i always make a malteser tray bake, covered in white chocolate. never fails and you get about 40 squares out of it. if i make it at home, its eaten before the next day!! |

Who put a recipe on here for chocolate cake a few weeks ago. I think it might of been J.B.Angel. Well, I've made it twice and, well, it disappeared before I hardly had a chance to have a piece myself, so yummy! If it was you JBA, I have a query about the choc icing (?) that goes over the top - whoever it was I think was an experienced cake maker and I'm definitely NOT. Thanks. |

Oh they are naughty not buying Mum's cakes. My youngest is into making and decorating cakes and today she completed a pink guitar one for her boyfriends sisters birthday. It's the best one she's done so far. |

I found the same as TW when many years ago I was on the school fete cake stall....... but before the fete opened a teacher would come and pick a large cake to have with tea in the staff room........paying a small amount of course........we weren't allowed to buy anything beforehand.......I suppose they thought it was one of the perks..... |

I remember buns and little things always seemed to go down well when we did fundraising for our year charity at secondary school - we could sell them at 10p each and still make quite a bit. |

Hi Muffy, I was school treasurer, and also used to make cakes, as others have said small cakes make most money. Carol |
