I just want to send special wishes to our Huia for tomorrow, 21st March, as it is her's and Phil's 51st Wedding Anniversary, a date to be acknowledged even tho sadly it can't be celebrated in the usual way due to Phil's health problems.
I hope you manage to do what you wanted to Huia and that some happy memories will help you through, especially if your son is able to be with you.

Thank you, even though you have made the tears flow. When your card came yesterday Liz I burst into tears even before I opened it. I thought I was going to be ok today, having had a good long sleep last night. Ah well, I have plenty of boxes of paper tissues, one beside me and another 2 on the table near me.

I have added a photo to the photos page, I cant seem to find how to add a description. It was taken 51 yrs ago to the day, almost to the hour.

I had intended to go out today but I seem to be rather lethargic after my day out yesterday and the weather looked a bit doubtful. I am still in my night clothes and I have just had my lunch! I just hope no unexpected visitors come knocking.

Hi love, well I am sorry the post makes you cry lol I am amazed at the speed the card reached you, I posted it on Tuesday 16th, I think it was, and they told me no way would it arrive by the weekend, it would take 7 to 10 days, so the fact you have it in time is impressive! i just wanted you to know I was thinking about you.

Even tho things aren't as good as they could be, you have had more time together than my parents did, they only managed 44 years and the last few months of those, Dad was suffering with lung cancer and he died less than a month after their anniversary. You packed a lot of interesting things into those years and brought up your family together so that part of you both goes on in them. Be proud Huia - you have coped well with all life has thrown at you and a few tears is natural and hopefully healing and releasing.

Hope you don't get caught in your pjs,

Liz, my parents celebrated their 40th and the following year dad was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia. He died a couple of months after their 41st. I now know how hard it must have been for mum.

My one remaining sister who is a bit over 3 yrs older than me will have her 55th anniversary next October.

Dont worry about making me weep, sometimes it takes just the smallest thing to set me off. 'I will survive' seems to be my motto these days.

I thought you got outside a lot but maybe if you don't, you are short of vit d as several of us have found. The jab I had and now tablets too is making some hair grow back on my head which is good, it just isn't doing much to give me energy yet lol

I have just seen what I have written in the first paragraph, 5ist doh! will go and put that right and then make a cuppa, might go to bed a bit earlier as I want to go round a stately home later on a freebie voucher from National Trust.
Felbrigg Hall, Norfolk, if you are interested, I have passed it so many times but never been in, we drove by last Sunday as we went to Cromer with my son for Mother's Day. I read a book about how they have to work very hard to get the place ready for opening - it was interesting and would be good to see how well they have done.
