Aren't you curious to find out why he is buried in the same grave as your ancestors Michael?

I can't find any likely Foden-Winfield marriages. The only place I found the two names together was in Dec 1863 there is an Emma Foden and an Eliza Winfield both marrying in Aston. Not much help I'm afraid.

There are only 2 people on here who have a Robert Winfield born in 1865 and they were born in Newington and Burton on Trent.

If it wasn't a purchased plot (and most weren't) then strangers would be buried together. There are 5 other people buried in the same grave as my g grandfather who died in 1889.

no not really curious as it happened quite often back then,
if a grave hadnt been used for some years,as people couldnt afford to buy family plots.
and it seems to have happened a lot around the crewe area? i have other ancestors buried in crewe cemetary,
with other people,
mike foden.
