to School, improve your English & general Literacy Skills would you?

Especially as the Govt has cut funding for Adult Learners?

No I would not - I received top marks in both at A Level standard :O)

No, I wouldn't, I am perfectly happy with my English Language and English Literacy O'levels thanks.

No, I don't need to, I did go to college as a mature student though and took a diploma course in English Literature and History just for 'fun' :)) and it was!

Aren't we lucky to be in the situation we are as opposed to the young adults of today who are going to lose their education half way through a course.It must be heartbreaking.
A College in Walsall is losing 1.5 million off it's Adult education budget.

I'd like to go back to college to study History.

Maybe once the girls are older.....

There was a young man on who will not be able to complete his qualification so thats two years wasted & no Certificate to show for it.

A lot of Education Authorities are eager for people to take the "old style" subjects as opposed to for instance TV & Media?

I was lucky because i got funding for it, not a huge amount but enough to manage. The college took students over the age of 21...a 'second chance' for so many different people, those who had retired, those who were unemployed, had little schooling, been or were carers etc...

The OU still provide bursaries I believe, if you can't afford the cost. I know several people who have gone in for degrees that way, building up to it over a period of years as and when they can afford the money and/ or the time.

I must admit Kay???? since I've been living here & seeing my partner's son working towards his Degree-it has crossed my mind.

I went to evening classes & got IT qualifications in my 50's, am constantly having to do updates to my qualifications so as to be able to continue working part time now that I have retired.

Never too old to learn ... there were several in my IT group who were in their 70's.

think i may go with carol on that.my pc skills are awfull.lolol.
and maybe history .but both purely for selfish reasons .
