My bitches have always had their first seasons at between 8-10 months of age. In my experience that's the norm x

Patricia,certain she is in season.Very sick the first day.Blood on my throws the second day and very swollen underneath lol .She is or was in season annie

How to put this delicately...erm..

Is she still overly swollen *down below*???

My poodle Scarlett had the same prob during her first season but as soon as her season was over and the swelling went down she was fine.

Never happened again on subsequent seasons either...seems it was just an initial hormonal surge that caused it.

Three weeks though ...it should start coming to an end by now though so I'd be inclined to pop her down the vets if you're sure the season is properly over x

No ! but I had a dog called Butch once !!!!!!

I would get her to a vet for a check up... sometimes they can get a urine infection... same as us, really, our immune systems are not at their most efficient when we are having our monthlies are they? Don't with hold her fluids until or unless a vet recommends it.... as a friend of mine did to her dog! It might also be fear.... she is still such a baby, but will instinctively feel vulnerable until she gets to the receptive stage. Or... if she doesn't seem fearful.... she is leaving trails of scent for dogs to follow... it is instinct, but can go awry... as I said, phone the breeder or the vet and ask.

Hope she is feeling better soon.

Whirley she was fine before so thought this may of been the reason.Love her to bits but have to tell people not to take any notice of her or she will wee all over there feet.looks like the vets then.Thanks Annie

My female dog is no longer here sadly, but I can say she never wet herself after her first season, so can't give you an answer really. But, maybe a visit to the vets for a check, maybe it's a hormone thing? Please keep us posted Grannie of 10 going to be 11

I have a lovely 8 month minature yorkie.My Sweaty Betty.She has been a very loving little dog and i take her everywhere where i can take a dog.She is always on the back seat of my car.Never ever been ill treated as i have had her since 8 weeks old.She came into her first season 3 weeks ago.Since then if we stroke her or talk to her she wets?Has anyone else had this and does it clear up? Annie
