I'm getting a little embarrassed about the pinned thread up at the top.

I initially asked whether management would pin it for about a week. It's gone past its one-month anniversary now (most of the time it's been there I was busy being disgustingly sick). I've asked that it be unpinned and allowed to become part of history, but so far it's still there.

Maybe there needs to be a stickied thread at the top at all times, and they just haven't come up with one of their own to replace mine yet.

Anybody else got something that deserves pinning? Some fact or event of wide interest that everyone would like to have greet them when they visit this board?

We could consider suggestions and vote. ;)

Failing that, feel free to ask management to unpin mine if you're tired of it! Mr Babcock has given us all a moment's pause to think about that awful war and the people it affected; I think "rest in peace" is the best sentiment now for him, and the thread.

Maybe the pin got bent and they can't get it out :))))))))))

I've sort of got used to it there!! I am surprised they haven't removed it though. All in their own good time I suppose.

Or rusty. ;)

You know what's even worse now?

Add to this thread, it goes to the top ... and then I have the top *two* threads and look like a total egomaniac ...

Don't draw attention to it, they might remove posts from it, too; when they decided to take the sticky off the tribute thread for Steve, they removed the last few posts and that included one from someone who had just seen it that very day.

Oh. Well that would be a drag. We all know what I think about posts being deleted, no matter by whom. Rewriting history, grr.

I shall be quiet then. Now we can just let *this* thread sink down ... ;)
