Does anyone out there know anything about Chapel Park and Clifton Park in Newport?
Chapel park has an entrance in Charles Street, one in Talbot Lane and a small gate in the car park on Stow Hill. Its clear that a chapel of some kind stood there and gravestones can still be seen but if anyone knows anything more or where I can find information, I would be most grateful.
Clifton Park is situated on Clifton Road, opposite St Woolos Cathedral and I understand that it was, at one time, part of the graveyard for the Cathedral. As with Chapel Park, gravestones can still be seen here. Again, if anyone has anything more on this park, I would appreciate it.
Thank you all in advance.
Jules

Am here, lolol

Hello Jules (~~~~~~~ to Julie Ann and Ann)

I live in Newport, about 2 miles from St Woolos and Stow Hill.

However, I am not Newport born and bred... I have lived here for 4 years... but I am near enough to go and visit some of the places and take photos for you as long as the weather is good, and I am feeling ok, lolol.... Howie will be your best bet for information, I suspect.

Let me know if you need any taken... my hubby will have an hour to spare while he waits for me on Tuesday... I am at the hospital, just across the road from the Cathedral, so if I speak nicely to him, he'll go and take a couple of shots while he waits... he loves old churches, anyway.

Love

Daff xxxxxx
