I just posted a comment on updating my GR tree under general topics - Oh dear.
There is a lesson to be learned - always keep a copy of your gedcom on a memory stick or somesuch and also at another site.

You can't.
A gedcom is just a way of transferring information from one family tree software programme to another one. You can't open a gedcom and read it, it is just computer code.

There are plenty of free software programmes such as Legacy which you can download onto your home computer, You can then take a gedcom from GR and import it into the programme on your computer, You can then print a report from there.
Once you have your tree on your home computer, it is far easier to work with and it is very easy to make a new gedcom from time to time and update your GR tree without having to type in the new information

Hi how do I export a gedcom so that I can save in in my docs to read like a report without it automatically calling up my heritage document? Basically I want to read all my information on Genes reunited from my documents so that I can print it??
