thanks everyone for your replies. I apologise I went and re-wrote this later on General Topics also - only 'cause I couldn't find it here. I'm still getting to know the 'community' side of Genes.

This morning I still haven't anything back but some have written it can sometimes take much longer, than for others who get them quickly.

I haven't anything in spam, and I haven't changed my email addy. I may write and put it to Genes in the meantime.

It varies, Carole. Sometimes it can take minutes and sometimes it takes days - and anywhere in between.

First time I tried, nothing - so I tried again - and again. Five times. Two days later - five came through together!

It usually arrives to your email address quickly.

Have you checked if it has gone into your junk email?

I've just tried it and mine has arrived.

Does it generally take hours, days, for Gedcom files to be emailed to you?

I've tried exporting and I get the 'waiting' indicator, but nothing being sent to me?

I can't be sure that anything is actually be activated. Don't like to keep ttrying over in case I end up getting huge MB's in the mail tomorrow.
