I wonder if it is a little mouse? When I was putting peanuts and stuff out for the hedgehogs I saw a little mouse scooting back and forth with a peanut to store them somewhere, even o.h. spotted him one day. We haven't yet found the stash of nuts so not sure where he has taken them but it wasn't far as he was back and forth so quickly, so thinking about it he could have put them in one of our pots of plants, haven't done much to any of them yet so will report back if I find anything. |

I was going to suggest that perhaps the seeds are from broken down fat balls ( but if you don't feed the birds it can't be......unless you have a cat or something that moves fat balls about ) .? |

We have never seen squirrels down our end of the street, but they are at the far end and there is a wood at the top of the field. These grains have obviously been putin a shallow hole and piled up. We couldnt understand it because we dont feed the birds in this area. |

Who is doing this? We have found small caches of bird seed in our flower pots and borders, some of it now sprouting. Have no idea what can be doing this. With three cats around the garden I cant think that mice would risk it, but who else. Google is no help, just one mention of a chiff-chaff doing it. Back later to see any replies, off to the Drs now. |
