School question....residential trips

Where do YOU stand on this.

I'm totally not one way or another at the mo but there are some parents up in arms at our school.

There is a residential trip in yr 6 cost £125.....school is trying to raise money for those that are unlikely to be able to pay.... Bake sales, sponsored events etc.

Lots of parents are very upset as tbh...benefits or no....lots of us will have to cut back ourselves and have to make sacrifices to fund this and the trip is a year away so plenty of time to save and pay in installments...whatever their circumstances....

Some feel the money raised should be divided up between ALL parents so there is an equal reduction on the final sum to pay...others don't mind subsidising those that won't be able to..

I just hate the thought of any child missing out..but I can see the other point of view too...so I'm a total neutral...
