is on teesside tonight, they have extended the show half an hour, "are we that needy" lol, anyways im looking forward to seeing zoes place on there a wonderful charity for teminally ill children, tissues at the ready me thinks im gona need em xxx

How apt, what DJ said about the closure of CORUS - the government went all out to save a few bankers - but have done nothing to help the thousands affected by the closure of the steelworks.

Like Joy, I'm disgusted that the government is happy for the public to fund hopices, and others associated with the terminally ill - like Macmillan nurses. Everyone dies - it's part of living, but if it wasn't for these charities, many would die in unecessary pain and discomfort, their families just left to cope as best as they could.
To my mind, the NHS would be better off, and hospices could be funded from our tax if it weren't for overpaid, undereducated (in the subject) NHS 'managers'.

i think your right hunn, its a sorry state of affairs when charitys have to live on handouts, when the polititions get thousands for unnessesary things to,
and dont even get me started on footballers wages lol,

I work for a charity that raises money to buy essential equipment for cancer wards and treatment clinics. We have raised and spents nearly 2 million dollars over the years. This is equipment needed to make cancer patients more comfortable and in some cases save their lives. If it wasn't for these charities the hospitals would have to make do without them - and in the 21st century that's unbelievable.

So it's not just Britain that doesn't give a wotsit about how people die then!

It really got to me when they wanted to give everyone over a 'certain age' statins to lower cholesterol (and presumably make them live longer) without considering the side effects they have on many people - severe pain in the legs.
Yay - live 2 years longer, but you can live 20 years in crippling pain to achieve those 2 years!!!
