by Chris Stewart

what a fantastic, well wriiten humourous book.
I looked at it 1st and thought yeah another real life thing about expats in Spain.
From page 1 I was interested and read the whole book straight off. ( I did refrain from taking it to the loo)
Chris Stewerts look on life will get anyone smiling but his turn of phrase which takes you into the homes and places he is talking about makes this book glued to you.
I now am looking for A Parrot in the Pepper Tree.

Hi Uzzi, I read this book ages ago,and when I visited my daughter last year, she had the sequel which I couldn't put down. Can't remember the title for the life of me.

I read Driving Over Lemons as well and thought it a great book. I read it at least 10 years ago. I wonder if Chris Stewart is still there in his mountain retreat.

Parrot in a Pepper Tree is available at Amazon foe £4.75, Uzzi is his style similar to Bill Bryson because I enjoyed his books.

Now that is strange Ann as I couldn't get in to Bill Bryson ..might have to have a re-read. and I will own up that I am hoping that somebody will drop the parrot book on me this summer.

Wendy last I heard from checking he is still there

I think the best read of Bill Bryson is The Thunderbolt Kid, I have to say one of the funniest books I have read,
