This was posted on Facebook by my daughter in law.
I stand among "The silent ranks" I have a husband who fights for your and my freedom .
A husband who doesn,t get days off "just because" , and who is always at risk of being taken from me .
He,s yours and mine saving grace!,
I am proud to be an army wife , our daughter is proud to be a soldiers child

I have thought how to answer this. I am proud and in admiration of all servicemen and women who risk life and limb on an hourly basis and their family for supporting the decision they made to join the armed forces. Absolutely no question about it.

However I am definitely not proud of the officials who make these people take that risk in some theatres of war. I don't wish to take anything away from the services but FGS why commit personnel to unwinable wars?

Absolutley 100% Agree with you .
Iraq was all about x number of oil barrels aday , brought about by a super power who are rapidly running out of oil , and not about the freedom of the iraqi people .
In Afghanistan it was Dubyas nemasis for 9/11 and our then and present goverment danced like puppets on a chain ,in and i agree a war we will have difficulty in winning at the cost of many young lives from all nations .

Hi Daff
And Myself, Northern Ireland , where ironicaly i met my wife soul mate and light of my life married 34 years in november .
Difficult times .
I won,t go into the details but needless to say a very hate filled and traumatic time in our lives .
Followed by the Falklands , Bosnia and Kosovo .
By then i,d had enough , seen enough horror and bloodshed and sometimes the nightmares come creeping back , only those who have rode the horse might understand
