Lady Cutie, tell me about it. I am fare worn out with making things today.
Made a Cherry Pie, Cheese Muffins, cheese pasties, ham and cheese quiche, and 2 French Sticks,.
BUT, yesterday, I put two ham hocks in the slow oven to cook. Worked a treat, and when cooked, I took them out to cool overnight . So, this morning I stripped all the meat off the bones and cut it up. I was left then with a pan of ham liquor. Too good to throw away I thought, so I skimmed the fat off the top. Then I added a few roughly chopped Carrots, New Potates with the skins on, and a few Cerlery Sticks and a Shallot, chopped. I let this cook for a while, then added a small drained tin of mixed beans, and a small tin of Marrowfat Peas, with loads of Pepper and some salt to taste. I let this cook for a while, while i was dealing with the pastry, then added some diced ham. Absolutely gorgeous, if I do say so myself, as, after standing all morning, I only had the energy to eat soup with a lump of French stick. So for the £2.98 the hocks cost me, I got out of the meat, plenty
to slice tomorrow, some in the ham and cheese quiche, the stock for the soup, and some bits to go in it, and two lovely jubbly bones for the dog.
I had some left-over cherry liquor also, so I froze it in ice cubes to have on Ice Cream at a later date.
Am now making Chicken Roulade with Pasta and Green Beans, with a Lemon and Chive Sauce, for the evening meal.

Had to go to the Garden Centre for a cuppa this afternoon, but I think I earned it, as I have my evening Brandy. Can't wait. Phew
