I have just seen the photos of the plaque dedicated to my late brother associated with a school in India.

I feel quite weepy, I know his name is forever memorialised and his death now benefits children in a far off country.

Just to explain, he died before his son married. Her family wanted to remember both him and a member of their own family in a practical way.

My nephew's wife's family paid for the construction of extra classrooms and ongoing running costs as part of the wedding gifts.

There is no memorial in the UK as my brother was an atheist but now there is a place where he will always be remembered.

I didn't explain that very well....lol

Yes you did Sue.

That is lovely that he has a memorial and that the school was helped, a permanent memorial to your brother, and so you should be proud.

Only just seen this Sue, as I've been out all day.

How lovely that your brother is remembered in this positive way.
I'm sure the lives of many students will have been enriched by that splendid gift, - education.

Thanks Gwyn,

It means the girls can now receive a 6th form education whereas before only boys had the option.
