People can lose contact over many many reasons,,parent split ,bad feeling between torn families a host of stuff......supose we are the lucky ones whos never been in these circumstances,.but it should still be treated with some caution,,,,,

there is a thing that you can;t put a living person on your tree without their permission.

I just think that if someone is using this site to look for someone living then what's gone on in the mean time as to how/ why they have lost contact in the 1st place.....if that makes sense

The thing is whether you know the person who is being searched for or not is irrelevant. The intentions of the person looking for them may not be entirely honourable.

Yes, I know the information to find them is available in the public domain but that doesn't mean I (or anyone) has to help them find it.

Julie if I knew you then likely not,,,,,,,,,,but all that ask on here are asking about strangers unknown to me,you and anyone else,,there may be 5%chance someone would know who someone living was looking for.

No information that can be found in open public records is private and confidentail..you just have to err on the side of caution...

I dont see a problem if its done by PM,as its public information they could find themselves anyway given the right directions.
